Condoms
Condoms are the most popular and convenient method of protections against
sexually-transmitted diseases. In the most basic sense, they are devices
that fit over the erect penis which prohibit semen from entering the
body of the other person during intercourse.
Condoms help prevent the spread of:
• AIDS/HIV
• Herpes
• Gonorrhea
• Syphilis
Condoms can diminish the chance of contracting HIV because the virus
is spread through semen and vaginal fluids. However, it’s important
to follow the directions on any form of sexual protection because improper
use or application can decrease the effectiveness.
