Latex condoms
Latex condoms have very favorable qualities that make them the preferred
type of sexual protection. Since the advent of AIDS/HIV, more people
have chosen condoms over other forms of contraceptives because they
also protect against dangerous diseases.
People prefer latex condoms because:
• Latex is very durable (condoms can be stretched 800% before
breaking)
• They’re convenient–available at most pharmacies
and grocery stores
• Inexpensive
• There are strict regulations on how they are produced to keep
them effective
Latex condoms work by covering the entire penis–first covering
the head and then unrolled down to the base of the shaft. When put on
correctly, they shouldn’t allow any semen to enter a sexual partner–which
also protects both parties from sexually transmitted diseases.
